About Us

Joe Hendig has been repairing and building surfboards since 1995. His first encounter with fiberglass was in the eighth grade when he built and glassed his very first skimboard.

In 1986 Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his four years in the military, Joe worked with sheet metal and fiberglass on some of the military's most expensive aircraft. He performed tasks from vacuum repairing honeycomb wing panels, to rebuilding nose cones using epoxy resins and advanced composite materials such as kevlar (material used in the manufacturing of bullet proof vests).

Joe began doing ding repair professionally on a part time basis while attending the University of San Marcos in Southern California. He has a bachelor degree in Spanish and Liberal Studies, an Associate degree in Auto Body Repair, and a bilingual teachers credential. Despite all his education, his passion is working with his hands. He is a craftsman and a scholar.
